Crayon Sun : Crayon Sun __ ‘test pressing’ One of three test pressings of Crayon Sun’s only, self titled album that was released the 1st of November 2018. Crayon Sun came into this world when Creature with the Atom Brain split up because their singer and songwriter Aldo Struyf (Millionaire, Mark Lanegan Band, CWTAB, Orange Black, Doberman, Vive La Fête, Nemo, Club Moral, Bandini, …) was tired of singing. So he formed this new band with vocalist ‘Big Dave’ Reniers (Dizzy Dave Band, Electric Kings, 44 Rave, Jokke Schreurs, …) one of Belgium’s most famous blues singers and harmonica players . They recorded the album autumn/winter/spring 2017/2018, just the two of them, both broken. When the album was finished Aldo formed a band to play live and Antoni Foscez (Go March, Dvkes, Arno, Meuris, Statue, …), Dave ‘rockstar’ Hubrechts (Diablo Blvd, Meuris, the Grave Brothers, Crime Scene, …) and Tomas De Smet (Zita Swoon, Moondog Jr, Think of One, King Dalton, Rumbaristas, Kiss My Jazz, …) all killer musicians, were the chosen ones. They played their last show right before the first Belgian-Covid-lockdown changed everything, in February 2020. The vinyl record, an edition of 500, sold out quickly.
